Tony Stark has arrived in Japan

Anyway, I don’t know if this is part of the Ultimate version. I doubt that this is following the comic timeline since Tony has a few things to deal with after the Civil War,  the Skrull invasion and the Void. Asides from Tony, Pepper Potts also appeared here but she’s still in the US, overseeing the main Stark Industries there.

Pepper has a small cameo appearance here

Iron Man Dio

So, Tony arrives in Japan to showcase his new model of the suit called Iron Man Dio. He will retire as Iron Man but eventually his retirement has to wait. While testing the suit, he suddenly realize that it went haywire. He fell down into the middle of the streets of Tokyo. There, he encountered again Nanami Ota, a Japanese reporter who earlier slapped him for being a perv.

Head over heels

Tony Stark is a jerk. I wonder how Pepper feels if she sees that.

While Tony checks if there’s anything wrong with the suit, Dio goes haywire again. It turns out that a  computer virus has infected the suit, causing it to go rogue. Tony dons his old suit again to stop it. After he manages to disable the suit and saved the pilot, he’s attacked again by a robotic scorpion thingy. But Iron Man blasts this strange entity. However, that’s just the beginning.

It’s a good start since I expected this one since April. But I heard that a lot feel disappointed on this one. Well, it’s either that they rely too much on the Hollywood versions or they really haven’t read the comics. Come on, Tony is a womanizing jerk, ’nuff said. Come to think of it, the show looks too Western to some. But hey, this will be also aired in the US next year. I know some people have complaints on the CGI used most especially on the suits. But, idc.

Onto the cast, Tony is voiced by Keiji Fujiwara (Col. Hughes of FMA, Ali Al Sanchez of Gundam 00) who also did the dubs in the Hollywood version and even dubbed Joker in The Dark Knight. Pepper is voiced by Hiroe Oka. Never heard of her actually. Nanami is voiced by Shizuka Ito (Himawari of xxxHolic, Lenalee Lee of D.Gray-man) while Dr. Tanaka is voiced by Takako Honda (April of Darker than Black, Onna Hone of Jigoku Shoujo).
