I’m still here, bub.

Ever since Madhouse’s disaster adaptation of Iron Man, initially, I have low expectation on Wolverine. But I was wrong. After I heard countless first impressions from various anime forums, Wolverine’s first pilot episode proved to be much better than Iron Man.

One major complaint from “fans” is that Logan got beaten up by a kendo stick. Idiots.

I’m just glad that the story is based from one of comic stories of Wolverine. And the other main characters are also from the comic too. The story is about Logan, trying to rescue his missing girlfriend, Mariko, who was taken by her father, Shingen, who is a Yakuza boss and a supplier of AIM.

The animation is good at least. No more shitty CGI. The music is all right except for the ED which sounds so wrong. Logan is still the Logan we know in the comics. A deadpan snarker with animal tendencies with a golden heart despite that he is a jerk. But he’s not a big jerk unlike Tony Stark. Plus, he’s good looking with some features of Hugh Jackman.  Anyway, I heard some people complaining about the romance part. Srsly, have they forgotten that Logan also has a thing for Jean Gray too?! Idiots. You think you know who Logan is and yet, you don’t even know about his background.

For the next episode, we get to see Yukio, who is also from the comics too. I wonder if they’ll also include the Silver Samurai. BTW, Logan is voiced by Rikiya Koyama (Kiritsugu Emiya of Fate/stay night, Shinigami of Soul Eater). Mariko is voiced by Fumiko Orikasa (Rukia Kuchiki of Bleach, Riza Hawkeye of FMA: Brotherhood). Shingen is voiced by Hidekatsu Shibata (Hiruzen Sarutobi of Naruto, King Bradley of FMA). And Yukio is voiced by Romi Paku (Edward Elric of FMA, Nana Ozaki of Nana).
