Finally, we got an anime that doesn’t have those pandering moe fanservice. That’s good and it’s a two cour which means Urobuchi can do whatever he want before he kills someone. LOL. Anyway, this anime has a feel of Ghost in the Shell, Minority Report and Equilibrium. And I really love the music (not Yoko Kanno but someone with the same family name did it) and the background scenes look amazing. Oh, big applause to the Chief Director who doesn’t want this anime to be moe-pandering.

The setting is very dark and cynical. There’s a system where they looked into your criminal coefficient (aka your psychological state) and if that’s high, you’re gonna be judged by these Enforcers (who are criminals themselves and are called tasked to catch other criminals) and Inspectors (who supervised these Enforcers).

First day on the job? Good luck with that.

Depending on who is focus of the story, we follow Akane Tsunemori. This girl is fresh out from the academy, being the most talented in class and yet, her first case is something which is not found in the textbook. There’s a guy with a high psycho-pass rate and he already kidnapped and raped a woman. Now, she would team up with two Enforcers: Masaoka Tomioni and Shinya Kougami. While the other Inspector, Nobuchika Ginoza, would be Shuusei Kagari and Yayoi Kunizuka.

Now, I heard a lot of people complaining about Akane. (Tumblr, I’m looking at you!!!). It’s already said that she’s a rookie and has no idea how the system works. Come on, even if you’re Summa Cum Laude with dozens of degrees, you do think that you’ll do your first day on the job easily?! Plus, Ginoza already said that they’re short of manpower when the case is open. Also, about her handling with the rape victim who also has a Psycho-pass level, it’s her first day on the job, okay? Some people screw up, sheesh. And I had to admit I was a bit annoyed about her reaction at first. But, again, we had to ask ourselves: is the system perfect?

You know, this anime would look awesome in a video game

I noticed how flawed the system is. I bet it would be interesting on who thought of it first. And it seems there’s someone manipulating it. I mean, this system is very scary if applied here in real life.  For example, if you’re just too stressed and angry because your boss yelled at you during work, then, you’re gonna be arrested. I could see that there would be people against it. I’m sure Urobuchi would show how Akane either disapproves the system or embraces it. So, those who are whining why she should have just shot the woman, srsly, get out of your rooms and look how messed up our world is.

New favorite character? Gonna find out soon!

Anyway, ramblings aside, we still got Shinya Kougami who seems to have a history with Shogo Makishima. We still don’t know what’s going on with these two. But I could hear the BL fangirls screaming. LOL

Shinya Kougami is voiced by Tomokazu Seki (Gilgamesh of Fate/Zero, Mitsunari Ishida of Sengoku Basara). Akane Tsunemori is voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Anri of Durarara, Mato Kuroi of Black Rock Shooter). Nobuchika Ginoza is voiced by Kenji Nojima (Fumito Nanahara of Blood-C, Masakazu Masaki of Eve no Jikan). Masaoka Tomioni is voiced by Kinryuu Arimoto (Patrick Zala of Gundam Seed). Shuusei Kagari is voiced by Akira Ishida (Cho Hakkai of Saiyuki, Athrun Zala of Gundam Seed). Yayoi Kunizuka is voiced by Shizuka Itou (Koko of Jormungand, Himawari Kunogi of xxxholic) and Shogo Makishima is voiced by Takashiro Sakurai (well, he seems to be the poster boy of noitamina).
