Well, there are a lot of new male seiyuus coming out in the open. However, some of them are in the animes which I’ve never watched. But I’m glad that some of the veteran seiyuus are coming back.
10. Hiroshi Kamiya
Roles this year: Kuroto Mogari (Blood-C: The Last Dark), Koyomi Araragi (Nisemonotagari), Freecell (Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle S2)
-Well, he’s coming around this year. Last year, he’s not much taking in main roles. And now, he only gets a few.
9. Daisuke Namikawa
Roles this year: Jin Kanzaki (Zetman), Yashiro (K), Waver Velvet (Fate/Zero 2), Goemon Ishikawa III (Lupin III: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna)
-Just like Kamiyan last year, he’s going in the back. But fortunately, he’s still in the spotlight.
8. Kenichi Suzumura
Roles this year: Toki Fujiwara (Code:Breaker), Myoue (Kyousogiga 2), Koubun Ka (Magi), Hayami (Zetman)
-I’m glad that he’s back on the spotlight again. I really miss his voice.
7. Akira Ishida
Roles this year: Shuusei Kagari (Psycho-pass), Inari (Kyousogiga 2), Ryuunosuke Uryu (Fate/Zero S2), Souji Jikukawa (Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle S2)
-Before he used to play roles of those who are nice and patient. And now, he played a serial killer and a playful Enforcer!
6. Takehito Koyasu
Roles this year: Dio Brando (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Rosen Aisha (Ai no Kusabi 2012)
-WWWRRRRRYYYYYY! MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA!!! Being the most profilic seiyuu has never been this good. For a voice actor with 300+ roles, you know why he’s hired to play the most hammy character ever.
5. Kenji Nojima
Roles this year: Fumito Nanahara (Blood-C: The Last Dark), Nobuchika Ginoza (Psycho-pass)
-He did some main roles before but would his breakthrough roles from Blood-C and Psycho-pass make him join the comeback ranks of Kenjiro Tsuda and Tomokazu Seki? Probably.
4. Tomokazu Sugita
Roles this year: Reisei Munekata (K), Joseph Joestar (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Pace (Arcana Famiglia), Kagerou Shoukiin (Inu x Boku SS)
-JOJO!! Damn, Sugitan is becoming like Nicholas Cage 😄 😄 Maybe these two should drink tea together.
3. Tomokazu Seki
Roles this year: Shinya Kougami (Psycho-pass), Gilgamesh (Fate/Zero S2)
-Well, he’s been around for quite some time. I’m just glad he got a main role again this year. …unless Gilgamesh as the main character.
2. Rikiya Koyama
Roles this year: Emiya Kiritsugu (Fate/Zero S2)
-Well, his roles in Fate/Zero really paid off. I hope he gets more main roles soon.
1. Takahiro Sakurai
Roles this year: Shougo Makishima (Psycho-pass), Izumo Kusanagi (K), Jafar (Magi), Rook (Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle S2), Shirokuma (Shirokuma Cafe)
-He grows out from being…you know, Suzaku. And now, he played one of the most twisted villains ever. His winning an award from last year’s Seiyuu Awards, really pulled off. Good job, Sakupyon!
*Katsuyuki Okiatsu (Jonatahn Joestar of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure)
-JOJO! Remember this guy who used to voice that monk, Muroi, in Shiki? Now, he’s JoJo!They should give more roles to him. He might ended joining the ranks of Nobuhiko Okamoto and Ryohei Kimura later on.
*Kenjiro Tsuda (Mikoto Suoh of K, Yukihina of Code:Breaker)
-He used to play some roles in Hitman Reborn and even voiced the flamboyant Fire Emblem of T&B. Now, he got a flaming (no pun intended) role in K. Hopefully, he gets more roles in the future.
*Yuuichi Nakamura (Hazuki of Natsuyuki Rendevous, Soushi of Inu x Boku SS, Luca of Arcana Famiglia)
-He’s a talented voice actor but how come this year that he gets some sucky roles? At least, he gets to be with his BFF in Gintama and Arcana Famiglia. But, come on, just give a role where he can really shine?
